OUR ACTIVITIES
Over the years, Kuramo has participated in numerous activities organised by goverments and private sectors. Below are some of it.

Yellow Cowries programme
On November 11, 2022, several of our students actively participated in the Yellow Cowries program, designed to enhance their financial literacy and economic understanding. Following an extended period of foundational learning, a competition ensued, in which George Peter, one of our students, triumphed as the winner. In recognition of his accomplishment, he was presented with a plaque. This event not only enriched our students' knowledge but also showcased their talents and abilities in the realm of financial awareness and literacy.

I.T competition
On May 4, 2022, seven of our students, namely John Theresa, Sabastine Paul, Nnadi Franklin, Usman Abubakar, Elijah Marcia, Sunday Deborah, and David Emmanuel, took part in an I.T competition hosted by Axon Analytics, a digital marketing company. Following their commendable participation, Usman Abubakar emerged as the victor, earning prizes and a unique opportunity to intern with the company, focusing on learning coding skills. This event not only celebrated their success in the competition but also provided valuable hands-on experience in the digital realm.

Education U.S.A
On May 5, 2022, the American Corner, in collaboration with the Ovie Brume Foundation, orchestrated a program tailored for Kuramo Senior College and Victoria Island Secondary School. This initiative was crafted to introduce students to diverse international scholarship opportunities and motivate them to pursue outstanding academic achievements that could secure scholarships both within and outside Nigeria. The program served as a platform to inspire and guide students towards academic excellence, encouraging them to explore educational possibilities beyond national borders.

Project icommunity
On June 27, 2023, the iCommunity Challenge project was introduced at Kuramo Senior College, Victoria Island, Lagos. The initiative began by forming 10 groups, each consisting of 5 students. These groups were assigned the responsibility of addressing tangible issues within their community. Following a thorough evaluation, the top 2 groups, showcasing the most innovative solutions, were chosen to represent the school in a broader competition against students from other institutions. In the final round, Kuramo Senior College secured the 2nd position, earning a prize of N500,000.

IT camp
On October 30, 2023, eight (8) of kuramo students were lucky to be sponsored to an extraordinary IT camp by Education district III.The program feautured approximately 40 students divided into two departments: Programming and Web development and Graphic designs and 3-D modeling. Over the course of 9 days, participants were given a project assignment from which the top 3 candidates, demonstrating exceptional performance, were rewarded with a brand new laptop among which one of the Kuramo students-Usman Abubakar also receives.
