The Jakande Government created Kuramo College as one of the schools to address the lack of Primary/Secondary schools in Lagos State, which culminate into the morning and afternoon schooling system in the state.
Formerly known as Kuramo College Igbose Village (KCIV), KURAMO COLLEGE Victoria Island (KCVI) is the present approval name of the academic institution. The Lagos State Government established Kuramo College on the 4th of August 1980. Prior to the government's approval of the school being named the aforementioned, Igbosere College was the name of the school. The move from Igbose to Victoria Island marked the the history of an enviable beginning for the students and the school itself.
The first principal of Kuramo College was Mrs Olutayo O. Olude, a transferee from Reagan Memorial Girls School Yaba. On the 5th of December 1981, Mr C. O. Saibu became the principal with a record of being the longest serving principal of the school. For over four decades, eleven principals have effectively championed the affairs of the school within the juridiction of their duties.
After the change of name, the government had to moved the school to a new location behind Eko Hotel and Suites. In February 1988, the school gained its permanent location at Bishop Aboyeade Cole Street, OFF Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Nigeria opposite Mobile Producing Head Office, Victoria Island. Kuramo College graduated its first set of students in the year 1985 of which many have studied further and became Lawyers, Doictors, Engineers, Accountants, builders, Community leaders, Lecturers, Politicians and more. The school has continued to produce brilliant students who have excelled in various fields of human endeavours.
Kuramo College has been the flagship of the Literary and Debating Society and had won several laurels for the school in the inter-collegiate debating society. Kuramo college had also produced sportmen and women who represented the country in international competitions in the likes of Udoka Udozor and Sunday Ogundele who are international tennis players. they have represented Nigeria at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. Today, Kuramo College comes first in must competitions sponsored by private sectors and Lagos State Government.

The science department stands as the cornerstone of all school departments, centered on observation, experimentation, and proof. At Kuramo College, our emphasis is on nurturing students' capacity to offer solutions to common problems by fostering critical thinking skills applicable not only to other subjects but also to various aspects of their lives and society at large. Key subjects within this department include Physics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics/Agriculture, Biology, and English language.
The art department serves as a space for creativity, entertainment, and self-discovery. It is a realm where every career or profession is embraced, avoiding any labeling of individuals as dull, as it firmly believes everyone possesses talent in various areas. Kuramo College is committed to extracting the best from each student through weekly humanities activities, encompassing drama, debate, singing, and dancing. The primary subjects within this department include English language, Literature, Government, Civic Education, and Mathematics.
The Commercial department primarily revolves around economics. At Kuramo, we equip students with a broad spectrum of economic skills, empowering them to take charge of marketing, sales, and the collection, analysis, and evaluation of data. These skills prepare them to make informed decisions on diverse economic issues throughout their life journey. Key subjects covered in this department include Maths, English, Financial Accounting, Commerce, Economics, and Government.
Mr. Lawan A.B, presently serving as the principal of Kuramo Senior College, ascended to this role from Kuramo Junior on October 25, 2021. His mission centers on enhancing the education system by enforcing strict adherence to school rules and regulations, aiming to cultivate competitive students prepared for the global stage. He values qualities such as hard work, honesty, empathy, and responsibility, while expressing a clear aversion to laziness, unseriousness, and greediness.
Mr. Akanni, a seasoned staff member at Kuramo Senior College since January 27, 2016, currently instructs Chemistry for SS1 and SS2, as well as Biology for SS1. Notably, he serves as the Emis officer and holds significant positions as the Kuramo Senior College Christian Fellowship leader and Staff President. His preferences lean towards individuals who comprehend their life's purpose, strive to attain their objectives, while he harbors a disapproval for those lacking truthfulness, straightforwardness, and a God-fearing nature.
Mr. Samuel, who joined the current staff of Kuramo Senior College on September 20, 2021, is widely regarded as one of the most liked teachers. He instructs SS1 students in Further Maths and Physics and oversees the Physics subjects for SS2 and SS3. Additionally, he holds the esteemed position of 2nd Education Officer within the school.
Mr. Bajulaye is a seasoned educator at Kuramo Senior College, having commenced his teaching journey in 2016. Currently, he imparts mathematical knowledge to all SS2 and SS3 students. He holds a strong preference for disciplined students and advocates for commitment while harboring a distaste for laziness.
Mrs. Omo, a recent addition to the Kuramo College staff, consistently emphasizes the importance of discipline and order. She commenced her teaching journey at Kuramo on October 20, 2022. Presently, she imparts knowledge in biology to students in SS2 and SS3, while also serving as the class teacher for SS2C.
Mr Orowale is also known for orderliness. He is one of the current staff of kuramo senior college who began teaching on the 26th of October, 2018. He teaches the whole school fishery subject and he is the year tutor to SS2 and the class teacher for SS2a. As the fishery teacher,co-ordinates the young farmer's club.
Mr. ade started his teaching prefession in Kuramo on the 6th of June, 2020. He is the Civic education teacher for ss2, and he also takes ss3 chemistry. He loves his profesion (teaching) and strongly belief that his teaching can impart the generation.
Mr Igoche is one of the longest serving staff of Kuramo who got recruited in the years 2014. He is currently the Head of the science department and he takes the SS3 mathematics subject. He likes hoenesty and dislikes lying.

Usman Abubakar, the newly appointed Head Boy of Kuramo Senior College, has an impressive track record of achievements that sets him apart. Usman's leadership skills have been evident since his primary school days, and he continued to excel in junior school, where he held the position of Head Boy. His exceptional abilities and dedication have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and teachers alike. Usman's academic performance has been consistently outstanding, with a strong record of achievements in various subjects. His hard work, discipline, and commitment to learning have made him a role model for his fellow students. Given his unbeatable skills and impressive track record, it was only fitting that Usman be appointed as the Head Boy of Kuramo Senior College. We are confident that he will continue to excel in this role and inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
